Introduction

There are many different types of lung conditions that results in scarring and stiffening of the air sacs in the lungs, also known as fibrosis. One common type is called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Other types of fibrosis can happen in patients with auto-immune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, scleroderma to name a few, or as a reaction to certain drugs or external factors. Sarcoidosis can also results in lung fibrosis.
